Wishful Thinking

A project about the reality in Israel, which examines the “democratic” medium of photography, which does not filter the photographed object in the frame.
In this project I chose to photograph places in which there are controversial elements, which we would rather not deal with in our every day lives, or that their mere existence deflects shame on our society. In the photos I took I erased these disturbing elements, and therefore deleted them to the viewer”s eye.
My selection of subjects would appear to the random viewer as a disclosure of racism or intolerance, but in my point of view, the creation of the image and the erasing of it creates a glorification of the erased subject and therefore emphasizes it.
